Studentska Lista secured a decisive victory in Serbia's emergency parliamentary elections, winning 52.65% of the votes, according to preliminary results released by the Republic Electoral Commission. The ruling United Serbia list received 39.22% of the votes, marking a significant shift in the political landscape. The election results reflect a strong showing by the opposition, with Studentska Lista gaining the majority of seats in the National Assembly.
Election turnout reached 69.7% based on a 66% processed sample, indicating a high level of voter participation. The election was held under emergency conditions due to the political crisis following the resignation of Prime Minister Ana Brnabić. Voters cast their ballots between 18 lists and 2,418 candidates, with the final results confirming the success of the Studentska Lista.
This outcome follows months of political instability, including the dissolution of the previous government and the formation of a new coalition. The election was seen as a critical moment for Serbia's political future, with leaders urging citizens to demonstrate responsibility and unity. The results highlight a growing support for the opposition and a challenge to the ruling party's dominance. The election results will now be finalized and announced officially.
