The Public Prosecution in Belgrade has called on all election participants to reduce mutual tensions following recent local elections. The statement was issued after reports of alleged irregularities during the voting process.
The Public Prosecution emphasized that all reported incidents of election misconduct are being reviewed promptly. Officials stated that any violations of electoral laws will be addressed in accordance with legal procedures. No specific cases were named, but the message was directed at all candidates and voters.
This is not the first time the Public Prosecution has intervened in election-related matters. Similar calls for calm were made in previous elections, particularly in areas with high political competition. The current situation follows a pattern of increased tensions between political parties, with some incidents reported in multiple municipalities. The legal framework for election oversight remains in place, but the recent calls suggest a growing concern over the conduct of the voting process.
